There is only one God, Creator of the universe, one in essence, existing eternally in three Persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The only mediator between God and humankind is Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. In His incarnation the divine Word shared our humanity completely and lived in perfect obedience to the Father. Through His expiatory death for all humankind, Christ revealed His divine love and satisfied divine justice, removing hit and reconciling to God those who believe in Him. The Lord was bodily resurrected from the dead, ascended to Heaven, sat down on the right hand of the Father, where He is interceding for the saints before the throne of God.

Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, we are forgive of all our sins and justified by faith in Jesus Christ, Baptism is the Holy Spirit empowers us to live a holy life, bearing testimony to everyone around us. The gifts and fruit of the Spirit enable us to serve God, the Body of Christ and the world.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the only infallible guide to faith and the Christian life.

Man and woman, the crown of God’s creation, were made in God’s image to have fellowship with Him. They voluntarily transgressed the law of God and as a result became subject to Divine wrath. Since Adam, every person is born with a sinful nature, inwardly depraved and apart from grace, incapable of returning to God.

Salvation is by the grace of God through faith in Crist as Savior and Lord. The holy spirit renew out heart, persuading us to repent of sin and confess Christ as Lord. We are justified by faith in Christ and have the gift of eternal life through Him.

God, through His Spirit and His Word, has created the Church, calling persons of every culture and age to have fellowship in the Body of Christ through the blood of His Son. The Holy Spirit bestows gifts on believers for the edification of the Body and ministry of the saints. The Church exists for the purpose of worshipping and serving God. It has been commissioned to proclaim the good news and to make disciples of all nations.

God adopts us into His family and empowers us to call Him Father. As we are guided by the Holy Spirit, we grow I the knowledge of the Lord, keeping His commandments and living so that the world sees our good works and glorifies the Father, who is in Heaven.

Divine healing is the power of God to heal the sick in answer to believing prayer and is provided in the atonement.

God’s redemptive purpose will be consummated in the literal return of Christ to resurrect the dead, judge all people according to their works and establish His glorious reign. The ungodly will be separated from His presence, and the redeemed, in their glorified bodies, will reign with Him forever. Then will be fulfilled the hope of all creation, that will proclaim the glory of God, who has made all things new.

INSTE subscribes to both the doctrinal beliefs and the evangelical Pentecostal interpretation of Scripture of our parent organization, Open Bible Churches. As such we recognize the absolute authority of the Word of God as the only infallible guide to faith and practice, which includes the moral absolutes established in Scripture. Based on our firm commitment to scriptural authority, all members of INSTE’s community are expected to live in conformity to scriptural truth as interpreted in our evangelical Pentecostal tradition.

Genesis 1:27 teaches three important concepts concerning humanity:
• God created humanity after His own image.
• He created two distinct sexes, male and female, sexually different but equal in dignity.
• Gender identity was established at creation and is unchanging.
We hold to the biblical position that a person’s sex at birth is the identification of a person’s biological sex and thus we do not support attempts to alter one’s birth sex.

Since the image of God is seen in the creation of the two sexes, the supreme importance of the marriage covenant between a man and a woman is evident. The biblical model for marriage is found in Genesis 1:27 and 2:22-25. Heterosexuality is God’s intent and design for marriage. We honor God through faithfulness within the marriage covenant and celibacy outside it.

Sexual relations outside of marriage or between persons of the same sex are spoken of in Scripture as contrary to the will of the Creator (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corintians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:9-11). INSTE does not support or approve of any sexual activity outside the marital relationship between a husband and wife, including same-sex sexual activity.

All believers are in a process of growth; no one is perfect. Along the way, we all experience the struggles common in an imperfect world. However, God redeems repentant people, including in areas of sexuality. Those struggling with sexual purity can trust God to help them to become the persons He designed them to be.

By enrolling in INSTE, the student signifies his or her willingness to abide by the principles stated here. Activism of any kind against these principles is a violation of that commitment. Any behavior that violates any part of this Statement may result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from INSTE.
