COUNTDOWN!
This is an exciting time of year! The graduating Class of 2008 is finishing up with exams and portfolios and getting ready to come to graduation. Of the 30 graduates in this class, 13 will be present for the banquet and commencement.
We will truly miss the rest of you, but we understand that the sky-rocketing costs of travel have made it difficult for you.
Dates to Remember
Just a quick reminder to all graduating members of the Class of 2008: you must get all your paperwork in to INSTE , by May 23th to receive your diploma at graduation or by June 27th to graduate this year. You may send it in earlier.
Continuing Students
Other students in Level Two are completing their semester finals, too, while still others are somewhere in between beginning and ending the semester.
That's part of the uniqueness of INSTE, isn't it? Groups begin year around.
Level Two Group Leaders
A quick reminder to you as to what to send in at the end of the semester:
1. Send everything but the finals on paper (remember, finals on CD)
2. (graduating class) portfolios (2 copies-one will be returned to the student at commencement and the other will put in the INSTE archives)
3. evaluations - semester evaluation (student); semester evaluation (leader); evaluation of the student (mentor.)
4. the FINAL STEP page signed by you and the students
beyond academics summary sheet for each student
plus of course: the Record of Attendance and Exams.
Whew. That's it!
Level One students are also completing their studies. To date, 255 Level One students have received the Certificate in Christian Ministry this year. Congratulations! Their names will be listed in the Commencement bulletin.
Level One Group Leaders
Now a quick reminder for you! Send in the following at the end of the semester:
1. Final exams (including those not used) 2. Register of Attendance and Exams
3. Key to lesson exams
4. Evaluations-Participation for each student, Student's Evaluation of the Course (for each student), and the Leader's Evaluation of the course
We appreciate you all!
Upgrade to a Degree
The first person to enroll in the program sent in his application today. In one year, he'll be getting his degree. Congratulations, Keith Odoms!
This program provides an alternate route to the degree. Instead of simultaneously fulfilling the requirements for the degree, the student may elect to complete the diploma program and then enroll for the upgrade program to complete the degree. For busy Level Two students this may be the perfect solution.
For those with almost enough transfer credits when they enroll in Level Two, this is for them, too. They can finish the diploma program, complete the transfer credit they need, and then come back for the upgrade.
New Promotional Materials
By graduation time we will have—Lord willing—some new promotional materials. The 6 x 9 mini-folder will hold multi-colored booklets succinctly describing INSTE. Also included will be a CD which contains the 2008-2009 Catalog, a complete outline of each course, all the syllabi, and sample lessons.
We will make these materials available to you right after graduation. We’re also planning on making some short video promotional CDs that you will be able to use to promote INSTE in your church this summer and early fall. Our target date for making the video CD available is mid-July.

Special Offers at Graduation
Two new items have just been added to the INSTE store for this graduation. The polo shirt will sell for $25 and the attaché for $30, but if you buy them at graduation you will get a $5 discount on each item and you don’t pay shipping and handling.
I’ve carried my INSTE attaché for 10 years now, and it’s still going. You’ll like it!
We will have other great items for sale, too—like water bottles, tote bags, some mugs, etc. Bring your ducats.
