FAQS about the New Form Last November we sent supplements to the Group Leader Manual to all current group leaders at both levels and in both languages. If you did not receive the Supplement, let us know and we will send it to you. Thank you for your wonderful cooperation in the implementation of these new forms and procedures. As you send in your book order, remember the following. BOOK ORDER FORM You are doing a great job on the Book Order Form. We’ve tried to simplify it, and it’s working! All students must pay all four fees: tuition, books, enrollment, and shipping every semester. Remember to attach the enrollment forms for each student. If you fax your order, be sure to fax both sides of the enrollment forms. If you fax it, you do not need to mail it. Either fax or mail, not both. ENROLLMENT FORM Each student must completely fill out an enrollment form each semester. This form is a contract between the student and INSTE. That’s why it is so important. It must be signed by the student and by the group leader. Give a photocopy of the form to the students and fax or mail the originals to INSTE with the book order form. If your church pays up front and the student repays the church, the enrollment form should indicate on the receipt that the student pays. Write the total the student will repay to the church on the receipt. That is important because if a refund is due, we need to know to whom we should send it. All refunds due to the student are sent directly to that student. Refunds of church scholarships are sent to the church. RECORD OF ATTENDANCE AND EXAMS (RAE) You receive this form with the students in your group listed on it. Only those students may take the exams and receive credit. If someone drops out and another person takes his place, you should notify INSTE immediately. Do not just write the person’s name on the RAE. Written names are not official; those persons will not receive credit. If you have an add-on, send the student’s enrollment form, a book order form, and payment to INSTE. A new RAE will be sent to you with that person’s name on the form. Again, THANK YOU for your helping make this change go smoothly.
What a wonderful list of candidates for graduation this year! We thank God for them! There are 39 candidates; 26 are studying in English, and 13 in God’s language—Spanish.
We are grateful to the group leaders and mentors who have worked so hard to guide these students during their studies.
Each morning in staff prayer we pray for the students and leaders in INSTE. Our targeted prayer in these next few months is for the graduating class as they complete their studies.
Many alumni are interested in getting an accredited degree from INSTE. If someone has graduated from INSTE in one of the diploma programs, and has college credit, he or she may be eligible for the upgrade. We’re working on a program that will make that possible. After we design the program, we need to send it to DETC for approval. Once approval is granted, we will begin promoting the program.
The Degree Programs To be admitted to one of the degree programs, the applicant must have the proper number and kind of credits to be admitted. Students who do not have all the necessary transfer credits at the time they enroll in Level Two are encouraged to enroll in one of the diploma programs, and then after they graduate, enroll in the Degree Upgrade program.
The Alumnus Degree Upgrade Program This program is still in an embryonic stage. If all goes well, we hope to initiate it at the Graduation Celebration in June, 2008. The upgrade program will be individualized for each applicant. We are looking forward to launching this new addition to INSTE’s academic offerings.
Final Exams Please have your group give you their final exams on a CD, if possible. Send in the exams on CDs (one per student) plus the other forms on paper. It will cost less to mail us the exams, and makes it easier for us to correct. We’ll correct the exams, and send them back to the students with our comments on the disk.
Nick Venditti lives in a suitcase. Not really; it just seems that way. But it’s all for a good cause. Recently both of us spent a week in Eugene, OR, at Eugene Bible College, as World Evangelism Conference speakers. We were also able to spend time strategizing with Dr. Don Bryan and Ricky Poon and his wife Irene, pastors of the Eugene Chinese Church, and the leadership of that church about the Mandarin translation project. They also gave Dr. Nick good pointers on Chinese culture, which will come in handy at the end of this month. He has been invited to teach two intensive courses in a seminary in Taiwan. He leaves February 29th and will return on March 17th. Pray that the Lord anoint him in this endeavor. Nick will be going to Taiwan with the pastors of the Chinese congregation in Rosemead, CA, David and Christina Yua. |
