Getting Started at INSTE

Discipleship and leadership formation is best learned through relationships. That's why our methodology is built around small groups within the context of a church community. INSTE combines information acquisition with discussion groups that foster practical application of biblical principles.

Step One
Check with your church about forming a group of 4 to 10 believers interested in studying the Bible together.

Step Two
Ask your church to sponsor a person to be trained to lead the study group.

Through a short, informative course INSTE trains a person from your church to facilitate the weekly meetings. We call the training course "Distance Leader Training" or DLT.

Who can serve as a Certificate Program (Level One) Leader? We look for mature believers who can help believers develop spiritual maturity. He or she should be able to apply biblical truths to daily life and to help growing disciples discover their gifts and find a place of service in the body of Christ.

Group leaders are trained by INSTE to do the following:
Recruit Students. We coach the leader on ways to do this according to INSTE guidelines.
Lead the small group. The short course mentioned above will give the leader confidence in leading the group.
Administrative duties include proctoring tests, keeping attendance, sending enrollment forms and student fees to INSTE at the beginning of the semester and evaluations and tests at the end of the semester.
Care for the spiritual development of the growing disciples in the group. This is the most important role of a group leader.

Step Three
The group leader will form the group. All forms necessary for this process are found here.

Step Four
Receive the materials and enjoy!
